ELA---Unit:  "Hardships in History"
We will spend the next few months on unit 3, called "Hardships in History."  We will use information from texts about our US history to cover the learning objectives.


Our Essential Questions: 

 How does the time period of the hardship impact future decisions and events?   
How are hardships in history similar and different?  

Book Report/Projects-
Book reports were assigned this week.  Students need to pick a fantasy or mystery that is over 125 pages and close to their lexile range.  
The students should record the name of their book in the doc "record sheet" in CLASSROOM- ELA.
Students will decide if they want to do the assigned slide show or wearable project for their book report. 

Books should be read by Tues. 4/19 and the Project is due Tues., 4/26.


Social Studies: American Revolution:  How it ties together for the next two chapters.

Chapter 8
The Road to War
*British taxes led to greater cooperation among colonies
*Events in Boston brought Britain and the colonies closer to war.
*The American Revolution began with the battles at Lexington and Concord

Winning the Revolution
*The American colonies declared independence from Britain in July 1776.
*The contributions of a wide variety of people helped the Continental Army win important battles.
*With help from France and Spain, the Continental Army won the American Revolution.
