Week of December 11th

Important Dates
Tues., 12/19 - All school trip to see WONDER
Thurs., 12/21 - 4th grade bowling
Fri., 12/22 - 1/7 - Winter Break
Mon., 1/8 - Classes resume



Reading:  We will continue with our mythology unit.  A mythology project that focuses on personalized learning will be introduced.  Students may choose to work individually or in a small group to complete a project from a given list. Each group will be assigned a different myth. The project will include a written piece and a presentation. Students will be given time in class the week of 12/11 but should expect to do some work outside of class as well. The mythology project will be due on 12/18. The project will be posted in Google Classroom  if you are interested in viewing the details.

Spelling/Vocabulary:   We will continue to work on spelling and vocabulary from our Mythology unit. There will be a test Thursday, December 14th

Social Studies: Southeast We will start our SE scrapbooks

Science:  We will complete a unit on  Life Cycles of Plants and Animals. . The chapter
test is  Tuesdsay, December 12th. A study guide to help prepare for the test was sent home last Thursday.

Mrs. Spakausky's and Mrs. Krasnodebski's Math Class:.  We will continue Unit 3, Module 2.  Students name fractional parts of the geoboard and describe the parts’relationships to one another. Their observations are then extended into comparing fractions with unlike numerators and denominators, and adding fractions with like denominators.
We will then be introduced to decimals.  They will use the base ten pieces as a visual anchor to comparing decimal numbers and to investigate the relationship between tenths and hundredths.
