Mon 6/4 - Last day of school. (Early dismissal 11:00am)
Reading:
"Journeys" We will start the book Love That Dog. As we read we will learn how the character Jack changes his feeling about poetry and starts writing many of his own poems. The students will also begin working on their own poetry books.
English:
We will continue to work on Narrative Writing.
Spelling: Unit 31-
This week's spelling list consists of words that contain silent letters such as knob, gnome, and wreck. The final TEST is scheduled for Friday, 5/25
.
Social Studies:
We will continue our study of the West. This week we will read and learn how the climates in the different areas of the west vary greatly. We will also learn how the rain shadow works.
Science:
We will complete chapter 4, The Human Body. We will read and learn more about the muscular and the skeletal systems. The chapter test is scheduled for Friday. The students should be reviewing their notes and end of the chapter review.
Mrs. Spakausky's and Mrs. K.'s Math Class:
We will begin Unit 7 Reviewing and Extending Fractions, Decimals and Multi Digit Addition. Students will use bar models and number lines to represent, compare, and order fractions with unlike denominators. After a careful review of equivalent fractions, students are challenged to compare pairs of fractions with unlike denominators that are not factors or multiples of each other.
