We started reading this week with learning about close reading.  The students learned about text marking and reading deeper to help with understanding of complex texts.  We modeled what this will look like using the song, "Let it Go."  Ask your child to show you the song in their reading pocket in their binder and the parody of "Let It Go."

It you want to know how to help your child with doing a close read, take a look at this website.
