Reading: Theme: Nature's Fury
We will incorporate nonfiction into ELA while learning about earthquakes, hurricanes and more natural disasters.  
Ask your child what their answers are to these 3 essential questions:
What are forces of nature?   
How can a force of nature that is so far away affect me?   
How can a force of nature be both destructive and constructive at the same time?


Social Studies: Chapter 8

Chapter 8 will start on Monday!!!
Lesson 1-Trouble over Taxes-
       *British taxes led to greater cooperation among colonies.  
       *Patrick Henry was honest and spoke out against King George III and Britain.
Lesson 2-The Colonists Rebel-
       *Events in Boston brought Britain and the colonies closer to war.
       *George Washington learned about hard work, commitment, and leadership while working as                  a surveyor as a young man.
       *Primary sources can be used to study how people lived and how they felt about important                     events in their time.
Lesson 3-The Revolution Begins-
       *The American Revolution began with the battles at Lexington and Concord.


Science: Chapter 11-Weather-
Lesson 1-What Causes Weather?
Lesson 2-What Conditions Affect the Water Cycle?
Lesson 3-How Can Patterns in Weather Be Observed?
Test on Ch. 11-Friday, 3/24!
